About Digital Marketing Agencies Australia

We used to point at logos. We now write the brief those logos should have to survive.

From 2019 the site ran as an Agency Network WordPress directory: Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Hobart, each split into SEO, SEM, creative and social shops. The homepage promised to help you find the best digital agency in Australia. The blog never quite arrived. By 2022 the production site was returning 500s.

The rebuild keeps the original geography and the original buyer voice — practical, slightly sales-sceptical, written in Australian English — and turns the directory into a long-form publication. Directories go stale the week a shop rebrands. Guides on how to write a brief, read a proposal, or fire an underperforming retainer do not.

We do not sell placements as editorial. If a guest essay or a mention is paid, the link is marked rel="sponsored" and the page says so. The standards sit on the editorial standards page. Images are Creative Commons or public domain and listed on image credits.

What we cover

How Australian marketers choose an agency; how the city scenes in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and Adelaide actually differ; how to evaluate SEO and SEM shops after privacy changes; how creative and social retainers should be scoped; and how to live with the contract once it is signed.

Who writes

The desk publishes under DMA Editorial. Contributors from agencies, in-house teams and consultancies can pitch through write for us. We edit for evidence, Australian spelling, and the absence of pitch-deck adjectives.
